What is Hospice?

Hospice Care is the Patient Care that follows when medical treatments can no longer cure a disease, allowing patients and their families to cope with their situation. Hospice Care provides an individualized program of physical, emotional, spiritual and practical care for persons in the last stages of a life-limiting illness. with an emphasis on symptom management (control of pain and reduction of anxiety) within familiar surroundings, rather than curative treatment. Our palliative care program focuses on quality of life for terminally ill patient, centered on both the patient and their family.

WHO QUALIFIES

Patients qualify for hospice care when they have a terminal illness with a prognosis of six months or less if the disease runs its normal course. Hospice care is appropriate when curative treatments are no longer pursued, and the focus shifts to palliative care and improving the quality of life.​
